North Stars 13th; GM Ice Dogs 18th in latest CJHL rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The latest edition of the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s Top 20 rankings are out and the Thunder Bay North Stars and Dryden GM Ice Dogs of the Superior International Junior Hockey League remain among the top rated Jr. A clubs in the country.

Both squads have jumped two spots in the national listings with Thunder Bay being tabbed 13th and Dryden 18th in the 132-team CJHL.

The North Stars currently sit in first place in the overall SIJHL standings with 38 points on an 18-5-2-0 record while the GM Ice Dogs, who hold three games in hand, are in second spot in the league boasting a 16-3-3-0 mark and 35 points.

Dryden also sports the top winning percentage in the SIJHL at .795 while Thunder Bay is at .760.

Collège Français de Longueuil (LHJAAAQ) remains No. 1 in the CJHL for yet another week while the Georgetown Raiders (OJHL) jumped to No. 2 and the 2017 Dudley-Hewitt Cup host Trenton Golden Hawks stay at No. 3 overall.

The Penticton Vees (BCHL) and the red-hot Powassan Voodoos (NOJHL), who have won 20 consecutive games, round out the CJHL’s top five sitting in fourth and fifth respectively.
