Dryden’s Braeden Allkins named SIJHL CCM Hockey playoff MVP

COCHENOUR, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Thursday that Dryden GM Ice Dogs forward Braeden Allkins has been named the CCM Hockey Playoff Most Valuable Player for his efforts in helping lead his club to the Bill Salonen Cup championship.

Allkins was named the recipient of the award following Dryden’s 7-3 victory over the English River Miners Thursday to sweep the best-of-seven final in four straight games.

The 20-year-old Golden, B.C., product, who was also the SIJHL’s MVP during the course of the regular season, led all league playoff performers in points with 15 in eight games, notching a league-best eight goals along with seven assists.

Allkins etched his name on the score sheet in all eight GM Ice Dogs’ postseason contests and also supplied two game-winning tallies.
