SIJHL announces trio of make-up dates; 1 venue change

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced the make-up dates for three games that were postponed recently due to inclement weather as well as a venue change for a regular season contest later in the campaign.

The cancelled November 4 match-up between the Fort Frances Lakers and Dryden GM Ice Dogs will now be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. CT at Memorial Arena.

Meanwhile the pair of SIJHL games that were called off on Tuesday (Dec. 5) will now see Fort Frances visiting the English River Miners at Cochenour Arena on Monday, December 18 at 7:30 p.m. CT. while the postponed contest between the Thief River Falls Norskies and Minnesota Iron Rangers will now be played on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Hoyt Lakes Arena with that one getting underway at 7 p.m. CT.

Finally the Thief River Falls – Thunder Bay North Stars affair on Friday, March 16 has been moved from the Fort William Gardens to the Norwest Recreation Centre, but still features the same 7:30 p.m. ET start.

The reason for the change of venue in that one results from a concert that has been booked into the Gardens on that night.
