DRYDEN ICE DOGS 5 IRON RANGE IRONHEADS 4 (OT)
Trailing 3-0 heading into the third period Dryden rallied to pull out the victory in extra time in a contest played in Coleraine, Minn.
Casey Skolnik, Benjamin Brouillard and Spencer Peratalo had put the Ironheads in command after 40 minutes.
In the final frame the Ice Dogs stormed back by tallying four times in a span of 8:36 to take the lead on goals by Chris Belhumer, Thomas Greene, Bryce Maggrah and Daniel Morin.
Shamus O’Neill would force OT connecting with 1:29 remaining in regulation connecting on an extra attacker effort.
Dryden would however complete the comeback a minute and a half into overtime converting on the Ice Dogs’ 60th shot of the game.
Iron Range put 39 pucks on Dean Shepherdson who picked up the win as the Dogs won for a fourth straight game improving to 18-13-4.
The Ironheads earned a point in the setback sending their record to 4-27-2.
The same two teams will meet in the lone SIJHL contest Thursday as they square off in Eveleth, Minn. at 8 p.m.
