The Challenge is set, and the Mayor’s are excited!  Both mayors for Sioux Lookout, Ontario and Dryden, Ontario has agreed on the terms for the upcoming challenge.  What is the challenge you ask?  Well, with the Dryden Ice Dogs and Sioux Lookout Flyers facing each other on November 10 and November 14, they have agreed that who ever can get the most attendance will be the winner.

“We are hockey communities and Hockey involves the whole family..so let’s get together and support our youth, the game and our communities!” Mayor Krassilowsky said when asked about the challenge.  Mayor Poling added “This is a great way to promote junior hockey in our two communities. Hopefully this challenge will create an even greater level of excitement for the sport within the region. I know that Mayor Anne is a fierce competitor and I say game on. Bring it!!!!”

The details of the challenge is as follows : The Dryden Ice Dogs will play at home against the Sioux Lookout Flyers on Tuesday, November 10. Likewise, the Sioux Lookout Flyers will play the Ice Dogs in Sioux Lookout on Saturday, November 14. The community with the highest attendance for their home game will win the challenge.  The losing Mayor will have to travel to a home game in the opponent’s town/city where she will wear the opposing team’s jersey and drop the puck at the beginning of the game in honour of the community winning the challenge.  So let’s PACK THE POUND on November 10, 2009, and see how great Mayor Poling looks in a Dryden Ice Dogs Jersey.
