4 Point Weekend, South Of The Boarder
Monday, November 30th, 2009The Dryden Ice Dogs took it to the road this weekend, and headed south of the boarder to Spooner, WI. As a member of the Minnesota Jr Hockey League, the Wisconsin Mustangs are doing a series of exhibition games against teams in the S.I.J.H.L. Before the weekend, the Mustangs were at 5 Games played with a record of 1-5. The Ice Dogs didn’t help their case this weekend, taking both games. Saturday, the Ice Dogs skated to a 4-2 victory. Then on Sunday the Ice Dogs skated to a 5-3 Victory, giving them the 4 points on the weekend. Games against Wisconsin counts towards the total points in the S.I.J.H.L, but not for the Mustangs in the MNJHL.
Members of this years Dryden Ice Dogs Squad were paid a surprise visit from 2 Former Ice Dog players. Both playing for the Northland College Lumberjacks, Nicolas Doiron and Colin McIntosh made the short trip in to watch their former team.
The Ice Dogs did not return home until the early hours of Monday morning, but will be back on the ice Tuesday to prepare for their next league action which is coming up on Friday December 4, 2009 as they host the Fort Frances Lakers. Gametime is 7:30PM (CST) at the Dryden Memorial Arena.
