Pink the Rink! 8th Annual Cancer Awareness Game

The festivities for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs’ Pink the Rink, 8th Annual Cancer Awareness Game kicked off on Thursday, October 29th, 2015 with the CKDR Morning Show playing host to players Shakeel Ebrahim and Kyle Sutherland.

An on-air auction for one of the pink Dryden GM Ice Dogs’ jerseys was part of the show.  The jersey was donated by Ella Lynn’s owners Ali DeClerq and Jill Russell.   A bidding war ensued with the winning bid being $1,500 from Dale Green.  Second highest bid went to Marty Marin with $1,350 and although he did not win the jersey, Marty still donated his bid to the Dryden Regional Health Centre’s Oncology Unit.

Our weekend’s fundraising efforts were kicked off with a $2,850 donation from the jersey auction – with more to come after our Pink the Rink game against the Fort Frances Lakers on Friday, October 30th, 2015.

Fans are reminded to come down to the Dryden Memorial Arena and wear pink.  Puck drop is at 7:30pm.
