Dryden dumps Fort Frances 7-2

DRYDEN, Ont. –  The Dryden GM Ice Dogs broke open a tight one-goal game with four unanswered tallies in the third period to dump the Fort Frances Lakers 7-2 Wednesday evening in Superior International Junior Hockey League play at Memorial Arena.

Dryden opened the scoring during a man advantage opportunity in the first as Nic Noseworthy scored at 8:42.

Action in the second session saw each side tally twice with Mark Ziobro and Derek McPhail notching efforts for the hosts while Maverick Lynes and Matt Tustin countered for the Lakers.

It was all GM Ice Dogs in the final frame however as they tacked on the four goals to win going away.

Jacen Bracko started the outburst as he struck twice in a 21-second span to send the home side on their way.

Dryden’s Braeden Allkins then finished things off with efforts moments apart to finish things off.

Allkins also had two assists for a four-point night to pace the GM Ice Dogs.

Patrick Zubick made 19 saves to record the win while Dakota Delbridge faced 41 shots in defeat for Fort Frances.
