Dryden netminder Dennis named SIJHL – CCM Hockey performer of the month for February

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday that Dryden GM Ice Dogs goaltender Ben Dennis has been named its CCM Hockey performer of the month for February.

In six starts last month, the 20-year-old Kenora, Ont., product came away victorious in all of them helping the league-leading GM Ice Dogs secure the SIJHL’s regular season title.

Posting a stingy 2.14 goals-against average along with a solid .929 save percentage in February, Dennis not only went 6-0, but also remains unbeaten in regulation all season boasting an impressive 20-0-1-0 record for Dryden.

He currently sits seconds in the league in average at 2.70 and third overall with a .916 save mark.

Also earning consideration for the SIJHL’s CCM Hockey performer of the month award was Michael Lenko, (G) English River Miners; Ryan Buttazzoni, (G) Thief River Falls Norskies; Jared Virtanen, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Ryan Walsh, (D) Thunder Bay North Stars and Jack Stensgard, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers.
