HockeyTV extends broadcast partnership with SIJHL
HockeyTech’s online hockey streaming platform to deliver high-definition broadcasts of SIJHL games

BOSTON, Mass. – HockeyTV, a service of HockeyTech and the definitive destination to watch hockey online, today announced an extension of their broadcast agreement with the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL), where every team in the league will now see all of their games broadcast in high-definition video commencing the 2017-18 season.

HockeyTV is a feature-rich platform used by hockey scouts, recruiters, coaches, players, and fans for streaming, archiving, and managing live and on-demand elite hockey content.  The SIJHL is a member league of the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL).  Headquartered in Thunder Bay, Ont.,, the Canadian Junior A League has teams in northwestern Ontario and northern Minnesota.  The SIJHL will be entering in its seventeenth season of operation.

The extension of the broadcast agreement between HockeyTV and the SIJHL allows fans of the league and the sport of ice hockey to continue to watch every game played at home or on the road on virtually any device in high-definition video.  For SIJHL players, these broadcasts will continue to foster the type of exposure that helps young hockey players to get noticed by junior teams at the next level, colleges and universities, and professional hockey organizations.

“The SIJHL is very excited to enter this new partnership agreement with HockeyTV,” said Bryan Graham, Commissioner of the SIJHL.  “With all of our games beginning the move to high-definition this past season, we are thrilled with the feedback we’ve been receiving from our loyal fans and our member teams regarding the exceptional quality of SIJHL broadcasts.”

This extension provides viewers with an elite user experience in terms of the level of hockey being streamed and the service’s broadcast quality.  HockeyTV can be streamed live or on-demand on computers, tablets, mobile, or OTT devices.  HD broadcasts present viewers with greater video quality when viewed on all devices and screen sizes.

“It cannot be understated how significant it is for viewers to be able to watch the SIJHL in HD,” said Marc Ruskin, President of HockeyTech.  “Fans of the SIJHL will be treated to a much sharper presentation no matter which device they choose for watching the broadcast.”

HockeyTV complements another HockeyTech service, LeagueStat, that is already in use in the SIJHL.  The world’s leading hockey stats and scoring service, LeagueStat is a web-based service that includes scoring, real-time stats, reporting, and administration.

“We look forward to continuing to grow our league in the coming years not only from an on-ice standpoint,” said Graham, “but also growing our technology operations with HockeyTech.”

LeagueStat provides the most comprehensive suite of available tools for both communications and operations.  For more information on LeagueStat, visit
