The 4 teams to compete in Dudley-Hewitt Cup confirmed
Powassan Voodoos (NOJHL); Dryden GM Ice Dogs (SIJHL); Georgetown Raiders (OJHL); Trenton Golden Hawks (Host-OJHL) will all compete in Trenton, Ont., May 2-6
CALGARY, Alta. – Friday night playoff action within the Canadian Junior Hockey League helped finalize the four teams that will compete in the upcoming Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Canadian Jr. A Championship, which goes May 2-6 in Trenton, Ont.
NOJHL COPELAND CUP-MCNAMARA TROPHY PLAYOFFS: With the Powassan Voodoos 7-4 victory over the Blind River Beavers this evening, they claimed the league’s Copeland Cup – McNamara Trophy, emblematic of Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League champions, in four straight games.
Powassan will now serve as the NOJHL’s representative at the Dudley-Hewitt Cup.
The Voodoos ran the table in the postseason going a perfect 12-0.
Rookie forward Parker Bowman was named his league’s playoff Most Valuable Player after amassing 20 points in a dozen outings on 11 tallies and nine assists.
Four of the 17-year-old rookie forwards’ markers were game-winners, which led the NOJHL.

SIJHL BILL SALONEN CUP PLAYOFFS: Superior International Junior Hockey League postseason play saw the Dryden GM Ice Dogs also go unbeaten in the playoffs en route to the title.
Reeling off eight straight triumphs, Dryden claimed the SIJHL’s Bill Salonen Cup by sweeping the English River Miners in four consecutive contests.
Pacing the GM Ice Dogs in playoff scoring was league regular season MVP Braeden Allkins.
Allkins notched a league-best eight goals and added seven assists for 15 points to lead all league skaters as he earned himself SIJHL playoff MVP honours.

OJHL BUCKLAND TROPHY PLAYOFFS: The Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Buckland Trophy final between the Georgetown Raiders and Trenton Golden Hawks is presently tied at two wins apiece as that best-of-seven affair heads into Game 5 Saturday in Georgetown.
However, since the Golden Hawks are also hosting the Dudley-Hewitt Cup, both OJHL finalists will compete in that four-team event, no matter which side claims the OJHL title. Trenton also captured both the OJHL and Dudley-Hewitt Cup crowns last season.
The home side has won each of the first four games of the OJHL final to date.
