SIJHL announces suspensions

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday the following suspensions resulting from incidents Tuesday during Game 3 of the Bill Salonen Cup final between the Thunder Bay North Stars and Dryden GM Ice Dogs at the Fort William Gardens.

AVERY SIAU, THUNDER BAY NORTH STARS – INDEFINITE SUSPENSION

Player, who was not dressed for the contest, is suspended indefinitely for his actions after incurring a Gross Misconduct at the 20-minute mark of the third period under Hockey Canada rule 6.7 (i) and rule 2.2 (h)

CARSON LUX, DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS – ONE (1) GAME PLUS INDEFINITE SUSPENSION

Player is suspended one (1) game after incurring a game misconduct in the final 10 minutes of the third period in Tuesday’s contest under Hockey Canada rule 4.6 (c). Player is also placed on indefinite suspension for his actions following under Supplementary Discipline.

MATTHEW PITCHENESE, DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS – INDEFINITE SUSPENSION

Player is placed under indefinite suspension for his actions and following receiving a minor penalty for boarding at the 19:23 mark of the third period in Tuesday’s contest.

Both Dryden and Thunder Bay were also fined an undisclosed amount for their actions in the contest.
