SIJHL announces suspensions

THUNDER BAY, Ont. — The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday the following suspensions from Saturday’s regular season contest at Dryden Memorial Arena between the Red Lake Miners and Dryden GM Ice Dogs:

CONNOR MOWATT, (F) DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS: TWO (2) GAMES

Player is suspended two (2) games under Supplementary Discipline. Player was assessed a major penalty and subsequent automatic game misconduct for cross checking under Hockey Canada rule 8.2 (a) at the 8:30 mark of third period.

The player will miss the following games:

Oct. 5: vs. Red Lake
Oct. 7: vs. Thief River Falls

MALCOLM HUEMMERT, (F) DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS: TWO (2) GAMES

Player is suspended for two (2) games. Player is suspended automatically for one (1) game under the CJHL Supplement Regulation 2.6 for the Dryden team being assessed a second penalty for goaltender interference in the same game. Player is also suspended an additional one (1) game under Supplementary Discipline.

The player will miss the following games:

Oct. 5: vs. Red Lake
Oct. 7: vs. Thief River Falls

DAWSON BOEHM, (D) DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS: ONE (1) GAME

The player is suspended one (1) game under Supplementary Discipline for a third period incident in the Dryden penalty box.

The player will miss the following game:

Oct. 5: vs. Red Lake

The GM Ice Dogs organization is also fined an undisclosed amount for incidents of unsportsmanlike conduct during the game.
