Kiley-Ram collects pair as Norskies defeat GM Ice Dogs

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. – The Thief River Falls Norskies saw Tyler Kiley-Ram tally twice to help lead his side to a 5-2 triumph over the visiting Dryden GM Ice Dogs Friday in a Superior International Junior Hockey League match-up at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Dryden did get off to a good starter as Jesse Mistelbacher put the guests in front at 5:16 as his collected his sixth marker since joining Dryden in mid-January.

However, the Norskies stormed back with a trio of tallies before the first period was complete as Kiley-Ram and Cory Checco connected just over a minute apart while Nate Brown notched his first SIJHL goal late in the session.

The GM Ice Dogs pulled closer early in the middle stanza when Nolan Marshall scored at 2:03 in what proved to be the lone marker of the session.

In the third though, Kiley-Ram added some insurance at 7:26 before teammate Justin Schwartzmiller rounded out the scoring midway through the final period with his 10th to cap off the home ice triumph.

Brown, Bryce Johnson, Nick Harder and Connor Kalthoff were all credited with two assists in the win for TRF.

Shots of net finished 45-42 with Dryden holding the edge.

Caleb Sauer’s 43 stops helped him pick up the victory while Knute Loe suffered the defeat.
